karl has really been bugging me lately, and his spring/summer collection inspired by german folk wear complete with wooden clogs (BARF!!!) left me wondering if coco is spinning in her quilted coffin. however, there is something about this folky chunky tweed classic flap has me interested for sure. the white   strawish tweed with canvas looking quilting and camelia flowers with the gold chain is a perfect way to incorporate the folk look sans clogs and tacky floral embroidery.

there is just something about straw bags that will always have a sweet spot in my heart. most of the time i'm all about the heavy leathers, studs, hardware... but as soon as the box opens at kate spade i can't help but be taken a beach in cape cod, the warm sand, fresh seafood, and the casual beach chic completed by the perfect straw tote. personally i would rather carry a birkin on the beach a la marc jacobs. but this bag comes in a close second as a perfect beach tote. and for $295 you can't afford not to for your next trip to nantucket.
usher is back....

at last i've found my summer 10 shades.... of course supplied by mr. jacobs. loving the temple detailing and the navy/black combo. i will need some new stunner shades in time for my trip to san diego! when does my next bonus come!?!?!
these puppies are a close second.... such challenging questions

i've been on this kick for buying high tops lately, i never used to buy designer sneakers usually sticking to my ever so loving loafers. but ever since i got my ysl high tops a few months ago i just cannot get enough! i've always loved pierre hardy for his fantastic women's shoes... but since getting my cube high tops from barneys a few months ago, i have been dying for another pair of p.h. high tops. mostly i want another pair because my cubes are so amazing and i'm afraid to wear them :)
since no where in scottsdale sells them, i will be hunting on my upcoming new york trek. i would love to find these colorful little numbers. why can't a boy ever get enough shoes??
finals week is coming up... which i am dreading! tests and projects....and on top of that inventory and our store closing! all the will be keeping me a live is dunkin donuts coffee.... it is totally legal crack. i just keep telling myself... only 2 more times!

this is what makes lanvin so amazing!
love love loving the all the leather from hermes. some day i will be like a las vegas pimp and have an hermes alligator suit.

anyone who knows me knows my obsession with day glow anything, i love it almost as much as marc does. it is hard to ever not find something day glow in any of marc's collections. this bag from his resort collection has had my attention since i first saw it in the marc store in san francisco a few months ago. the colors mixed with the black, and the stud detailing on the side is just....TDF! if anyone wants to give one to me i will happily accept it!!! it's available on net a porter for $1295
part of what i love about gucci is the vintage inspiration for much of the collection, sometimes when i see something i can just imagine jackie in a pair of fantastic sunglasses in greece wearing gucci. bamboo handle bags are such a timeless look, and perfect for any spring/summer bag, and frida giannini's latest interpretation of the classic gucci bamboo handle bag is FANTASTIC! the grey crocodile version is my fav....always loving me some scales.

i love that fanny packs are back this season! of course they have a new name..."bum bags". they are so functional, and are perfect to carry the essentials. of course i think they look best slung across the body instead of around your waste, but being old school can be cool too. the designer ones featured this season are much better looking than the leather one (that my mom had to steal and destroy) that my dad had in the 90's. my favorite one this season is this louis vuitton.
of course you can go with the more basic version (which i own and love!) from gucci.

so, i used to be a really big fan of chloe bags, especially the ever so heavy paddington. but ever since hannah macgibbon took over chloe as the creative director, the bags have been super boring. the styles hardly change season to season, and the color palate is so neutral and blah.  and now the silverado bag is back. wtf!?! this bag was released like 5 years ago, and were just plain ugly! we had them at bloomingdales, and it took them to be like 80% off to unload those puppies. seriously? it's cool to bring back a classic like the chanel 2.55, but bringing back something that was never popular? maybe it's time for a new handbag designer hannah?
happy st. patricks day!

March 16, 2010

this is just me being a retail bitch, but i hate when customers say " oh, (insert store name here) will do this for me, why can't you??". if you like what a store does for you..... just shop there. what mind blowing revalation!

March 13, 2010

ahhh! these l.v. shoes are being worn right off the runway.... a perfect way to do this fall's grey and black trend. i need some sparkle silver loafers too!....lol!
so i'm kind of obsessed with marc jacob's grandma chic collection for louis vuitton. it's full of heavy suits in matronly cuts, aged floral prints, and thick knit wool sweaters. i love marc's obsession with frump fashion, he does such good job making everything look desirable ( expect this spring....sorry marc :( ). while the looks aren't easily just taken off the runway, they will translate into great pieces and basics. what i am also dying over in the collection is the awesome grandma satchels.... done in new sizes and colors they look so fresh and new. i can't wait to see some of these babies in person!
i'm also loving these! the heel detail and bow is so neat

a lauren and robert classic

March 9, 2010

it's a sad fact that beautiful things can come from so much pain. and that again was proven by alexander mcqueen's final collection. the 16 looks he had completed before he took his own life a month ago were shown in a quiet parisian salon today. inspired by medieval fashion, mcqueen was trying to return to his roots and create a beautifully crafted collection. the prints and details of every single piece just puts me in awe, and shows truly what a master he was. all of the embroidery is done by hand, and the jacquards were hand loomed. he will truly be missed, and be remembered as one of the most influential designers of our time.
after chanel's spring/summer couture collection, i was hoping that this season unlike recent seasons karl wouldn't let me down for the new fall ready-to-wear collection. words can barely describe my extreme disappointment, it was a wet faux fur mess. he decided to be inspired by polar bears (wtf!?!), and use loads and loads of nappy looking faux fur on EVERYTHING. pants, bags, suits, shoes.... the horror never ends. i'm not even sure if it was real fur it would have been cute, but the faux just adds a tack factor that makes it 1000x worse. the models walked through an arctic wonderland complete with a water filled runway that made the fur all wet...sick. the redeeming quality of the collection was at the end there was some cute knit dresses, and fun tweed looks with classic chanel cap toe rain boots, but by then it was too late.
complete with tweed hot water bottle

what makes this ok????
faux fur hot pants will never.....NEVER be okay

phoebe philo does it again! her second collection celine is dare i say it, better than her first collection. embracing the season's minimal theme, she stuck with simple shapes in black and off-white. it seems that she is being very well received at celine, i hope that she can really turn this brand around. i can't wait to see the bags from this collection too!

the leather she showed in the collection has a great stiff industrial look with a lovely sheen, and it looks great next to the soft fabrics like this lace blouse.
best piece of the collection, this midnight coat is TDF! again we are seeing the great shoulder detailing!

March 7, 2010

after waiting, and waiting, and waiting some more..... my new balenciaga bracelet is FINALLY here! i am just in awe of the color. the color is called outremer and it's part of balenciaga's spring collection, i'm also loving the "work" bag in this color too. the deep cobalt looks so fresh with the giant silver hardware, it's amazing how cobalt pretty much goes with everything and is a great pop of color without going too crazy.  i doubt it will be my last piece in this color, i will be visiting my friends @ balenciaga in new york very soon!

March 5, 2010

dear john,
we are all in awe of your talent, but maybe it's time to change the look up just a little. we have been seeing the same layered chiffon dress for what seems like 10 years.... it's become a bit boring. k? love you lots
loving the even bigger shoulders this season, especially all the different shapes at lanvin. my favorite is this beautiful red coat with the pleated shoulders... tdf

loving these fab stingray balenciaga's outside the balenciaga show in paris.
thanks tommy ton

balenciaga just showed today in paris, and as always I LOVED IT! I love the computer/ tech inspiration, the neutral colors mixed with pastels, and the mix of different materials and textures. most of all i love the shoes, and am starting to see a fall trend emerge.... penny loafers. they are a classic look, remixed made to look fresh and fabulous again. prada showed them in milan, now balenciaga has made awesome penny loafers, and i'm sure we'll see them again before paris is done. now I need to find a fantastic pair of penny loafers for fall....

the balenciaga beauties

pretty purple patent at prada

creepy crawlies seem to be the emerging trend, with many companies creating pieces of some untraditional creatures... snakes, bugs, spiders, etc... i think they have a vintage feel, and add a little spunk to an outfit. i'm expecting to see more of this for fall. even bottega veneta has jumped on the bandwagon putting scarab beetle on their bags..... time to go buy some buggy stuff!!!

March 3, 2010

it's paris fashion week!! lanvin, dior, and balenciaga...oh my!

dear marc,
why did you buy into the fringe trend? it didn't look good on pocahontas, so what made you think it would look ok on a bag??

i was pretty underwhelmed by milan fashion week (excluding pucci and gucci...duh!), and one of my usual fav's has been kinda lame for the past few seasons...bottega!?! what happened?!?! but there still is a glimmer of hope. iridescent leather bags! shown in emerald and violet hues, and an array of exotics... this may be a trend for fall, stay tuned! of course the cabat is my favorite.

March 1, 2010

everytime i go to barneys i have to make a stop by the new celine bags, mostly to pet them as they are currently out of budget....stupid saving for new york. but since pheobe philo took over celine seems to be popping up everywhere, and seem to be the must have bags of all the fashion weeks this season. phoebe seems to be doing it again!

February 25, 2010

so the most exciting part of fashion week for me is seeing tommy ton's photo's from outside the shows. because he focuses on what's most important.... shoes and bags. i'm loving these miu miu's from milan.

why don't american men do the man clutch? so chic, so handy. my objective is to bring this trend stateside. time to start hunting for the perfect one.... i'm thinking balenciaga...

January 30, 2010

i'm baaack betches.... totally fell off the bloggy bandwagon, but i'm back with a vengence!
